Just bought through Tractor Supply. Setup instructions were lacking and not specific to MZ61. Also, the three mower deck spindles did NOT come with grease zerks, which is disappointing. So much for “commercial grade”. The transaxle oil reserve tank also was low on oil with some oil drips noticeable under it – it may have been the shipment of the unit. Mower fired up well and seems to cut well.
My neighbors are calling me Mr. Tia since my last name is starts with a T and my yard looks absolutely amazing now that I only have to do one pass in order to utilize the three blades , previously I would have to make several passes on my lawn this one is exactly what we needed.
Disclosure: I have only had this for a week, so this is based on very limited use and mostly my initial impression. The MZ61 with ROPS appears to be a tank! Quality is evident throughout and I really don’t see where any corners were cut with the design or fabrication, Ordered the unit online. Had it delivered by common carrier to my residence. Once off the truck, broke down the crate and followed the final assembly directions. This basically consisted of flipping the ROPS unit as it is shipped backwards to allow the handles to be protected during shipment (someone was really thinking here). Other than that, basically checking the engine oil level, tire pressure, and connecting the negative wire for the battery. The unit fired right up and the power was evident. I had to make a small adjustment to correct the tracking, which is clearly explained in the manual, and the rest is history. Started mowing just as an excuse to ride this thing around….. Time will tell, but for now a solid 5 stars, not dissapointed in anyway!
Bought 2 years ago. Only 230 hours and the motor blew up. All proper maintenance was done at dealer. And of course no longer under warranty and dealer has gone out of business.
I bought this MZ6128 six or seven years ago. I never had riding lawn mower or a garden riding mower that gets stuck as much as this zero turn. This thing gets stuck on the flat ground. I asked about the problem at the dealer and he told me to lower the tire pressure. It helped a little bit. My neighbor has a Toro time saver or time cutter or something like that. He never gets stuck. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
